Miami Hurricanes

The Miami Hurricanes is a college football team competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  This is the NCAA's Division 1 subdivision.  The Hurricanes have won more national championships in the last 30 years than any other program.  Two Hurricanes have won the Heisman Trophy, 6 have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.  The team also holds the record for the longest streak In NCAA history with 58 victories.

The Hurricanes also hold NFL draft records, including most first round selections in a single draft and most consecutive drafts with at least one draft pick.  Their last national championship was in 2001.  They play their home games at Land Shark Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The team is currently coached by Randy Shannon; he has led the team to a 12-13 in his first two years as head coach.  He was fired hired to be a graduate assistant in 1991.  He then became the defensive line coach and the linebackers coach.  In 2001 he was hired to be the defensive coordinator. 

Shannon was officially introduced as the Head coach of Miami on December 8, 2006.  He replaced Larry Coker.   Coker stayed on to take the team to a 21-20 MPC Computers Bowl victory over the University of Nevada.  Shannon assumed all other duties including hiring, immediately on his hiring.  His first decision as head coach was to have the players surnames removed from their jerseys.
